Nettie Cohen Milberg, 94, of Mills River died peacefully Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Pardee Hospital. A native of New York, NY she was daughter of the late Archie and Jenny Cohen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Sydney Milberg.

Mrs. Milberg lived most of her life in Miami, where she was a volunteer at Baptist Hospital and secretary to Rabbi Barry Tabachnikoff of Temple Bet Breira. She moved to Hendersonville 2 years ago.

She is survived by a son, Melvin J. Milberg of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a daughter, Sharon Dick Rothman and her husband, Bert of Mills River; grandson, Alan Dick; granddaughter, Susan Spitzer; 3 nieces: Cora Cohen, Jessie Richard and Sherry Cohen and great grandchildren, Hannah Spitzer, Jeffery Dick, Jillian Kirn, Eden Kirn and Alec Rothman.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Riverside Cemetery with Rabbi Batsheva H. Meiri officiating. Shiva will follow at 245 Mill Ridge Drive, Mills River, NC.

Memorials may be made to Hadassah-Asheville, NC or a charity of one’s choice.
