  • Brian McDonald: I am very sad to hear of Chef Werth passing. Chef Werth was very supportive of so many people in the culinary industry long after he retired from teaching. I had the privilege (and challenge to fill his shoes) to follow in his footsteps teaching at AB Tech. Chef Werth was so supportive me personally as I learned his trade of teaching and he continued to be a rock of culinary inspiration to the entire Asheville region. Above all his wonderful professional attributes was one of the sweetest caring men I have known. He always was genuinely interested in how you were doing personally, not just professionally. Chef Werth will be missed in so many ways.

  • Freddie Dance: God places special people in everyones life. God does this to teach us, and to prepare us for the curve balls that life will throw us. Robert and I stayed close friends even after A-B Tech. He was my Teacher, my Mentor, my Colleague, my "FRIEND". not just any friend, but for life.
To the family my thoughts and prayers go out to you. Bob is in good hands now.
It hurts me deeply that my friend is gone but his spirit lives on in the hearts of everyone he has worked with and became friends with.

  • Eddie Walker: To the Family of Chef Werth,
I wish to extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of Robert Werth. I am a former student of AB Tech (79-81). Since graduation I have had many opportunities to travel the country and meet with many of Chef Werth’s friends and colleagues. I shall forever be grateful to Chef Werth for inspiring me through the certifications of the ACF and being honored as a fellow American Academy Inductee. Once again, I just wish to express my deepest sympathies and your family will be in my prayers.

    Sincerely,
    Eddie Walker CEC;AAC

  • Paul Parce: Dear Family of Robert Werth,
It is with sadness and regret that I read of the death of Chef Werth. To me he will always be "Chef" and he was a blessing in many ways. He was first and formost my teacher, even after I became a colleague. I learned much from him both in and out of the kitchen. He was one of those characters who enriched the lives of those around him. He was a striver and an achiever of much. I am very thankful for the opportunity to have known him.
I know of no words with which to temper and heal the loss which you, his family, must be feeling now. It is my earnest prayer that you are comforted by God and I do hope that you find joy and laughter in the memories of the good man who was Bob Werth.
    Yours,
    Paul Parce
